Bank on this trust to pay dividends

There are apparently 27 investment trusts that are more than a century old. The Bankers Investment Trust is one of them, and probably the only one to have raised its dividend for every year during the past half-century. The name is because seven of the nine founding directors were bankers by trade.

This sits at the safer end of the investment trust spectrum, having seven separate portfolios run by their own managers, about 200 investments in all and therefore the ten biggest accounting for only 15 per cent of the total. The financial year runs to the end of October, which means that the expected dividend for the current year, 18p, puts the shares, off a penny at 708p yesterday, on a forward yield of
